Thunder Mansion Creations is a small, family-run business based in southeastern Pennsylvania, founded by husband and wife team Michael and Denise. Together, we design and handcraft a variety of products – from laser-cut creations to beautifully sewn items – right here in our home studio.
Our story began when Michael, a lifelong software developer, decided it was time for a new chapter. Computers have been his passion since his first day of computer class back in 1982. But after decades of building software, he found himself looking for a fresh way to create. An idea started to take shape when he remembered a commercial he saw years earlier for a laser you can use at home. Today, working with his xTool S1 40w laser has become both a hobby and a new career, blending his love of technology with a hands-on approach to making something tangible.
Denise brings her own creative expertise to the business. She began sewing on a modest machine, honing her craft and designing practical and playful fabric products. Upgrading to her Juki sewing machine opened new possibilities for the quality and detail she could achieve.
Our daughter Jenna, a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, often contributes her artistic perspective. And Belle, our cat, is always nearby, ready to supervise every project (or at least nap in the middle of it).
From the start, we’ve been inspired by the community of makers around us – small business owners who generously share their knowledge and enthusiasm. This spirit of creativity and collaboration has shaped our journey and encouraged us as we learn and grow.
Even our name is a nod to something we love.
“Thunder Mansion” comes from blending two of our favorite Disney World rides – Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Haunted Mansion.
We’re a new company, excited to see where this adventure leads. Whether it’s a laser-engraved gift or a handmade fabric accessory, we take pride in every piece we make together.
